About Me & My Fluid Art
After starting a job for a non profit Art Center I found my creative side in Fluid Art. What is Fluid Art? It’s basically taking several different colors specially mixed acrylic paint and combining them using different techniques to come up with some fun and unique. After my first few canvas creations, I was hooked.
Fast forward a few weeks and I decided I wanted to try and create some jewelry. After much research I found that many artists use what is called “skins” to create their jewelry. This is typically the left over paint from their canvas they created that has dried and they use a special glue to adhere their cabochon onto the “skin” and create their jewelry from that. I don’t do that.
I create my designs individually. Sometimes I start with a canvas, most times I don’t. I do not wait for my paint to dry to get a skin. I like to play with the paint and see what kind of designs I can get from it and I hand dip each cabochon to get the designs you see in each piece. If I don’t like it, I simply wipe it clean and start over.
I call this technique, “twisted paint design”. Yes, technically it is still “paint pouring” and/or “fluid art” but “twisted paint” is just more fun to say and honestly it’s truly what it is, twisting the paint until I get the desired look I want to achieve.
Each piece has its own unique and one of a kind look. I will never offer these designs as prints or mass produce them. Each piece you receive will be 100% unique and authentic by lil ole me, Sha. (By the way, that’s pronounced like Shay.)
I am grew up near Gettysburg, PA in a little town called Biglerville. I moved to this area in 1998 and have been here since. As a family growing up, we used to visit the mountains almost every weekend and spend time at our family cabin. When my parents retired here, I followed soon after to be near them. I am a single mom to 4 amazing men and a grandmother to 3 amazing little men.
I hope you find something you love here! If you have a specific request please feel free to reach out to me!
